Kudlu Gate metro station: how close is it to Mizumi Reserve?

Kudlu Gate metro station is a stop on Namma Metro's Yellow Line, on Hosur Road at the Kudlu Gate junction. The Mizumi Reserve brochure names it, with Hosa Road station, as about 1 km from the project. Our own map check gives a more precise answer: the closest station to Mizumi Reserve is Hosa Road, at 1.3 km in a straight line. Kudlu Gate sits further north along the same line.

Where is Kudlu Gate metro station?

The Yellow Line runs along Hosur Road from RV Road in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra, past Electronic City. At RV Road it meets the Green Line. Heading south from Central Silk Board, the stations near Kudlu run in this order:

• Bommanahalli
• Hongasandra
• Kudlu Gate
• Singasandra
• Hosa Road
• Beratena Agrahara
• Electronic City

Kudlu Gate takes its name from the junction where the road from Kudlu meets Hosur Road. For people living on the Kudlu side of Hosur Road, it and the stations just south of it are the way into the city without the traffic.

How far is Kudlu Gate metro station from Mizumi Reserve?

We measured the nearest stations from the project on a map. These are straight line distances, the shortest possible. The real walk follows roads and will be longer.

Kudlu Gate did not appear among the four nearest stations in our check, the furthest of which was Electronic City at 2.5 km. Singasandra, the next stop south of Kudlu Gate, is 1.8 km. So for most trips from Mizumi, Kudlu Gate is not the station you will walk to. Hosa Road is.

Which station will Mizumi residents actually use?

Hosa Road, for most people. It is the nearest, and it is on the same line as Kudlu Gate, so trips toward Central Silk Board and the city pass through Kudlu Gate anyway. Heading south to Electronic City, Beratena Agrahara at 1.7 km is the other option.

The practical question is the last stretch. Before you rely on the metro, walk from the project gate to the station at the hour you would commute. Check the footpath, the crossing at Hosur Road and whether an auto or a cab is easy to find for the return in the evening.

What the metro changes, and what it does not

A station within walking distance changes daily life in a way a new flyover does not. Trips toward Silk Board and the city no longer depend on Hosur Road traffic, and a household can manage with one car instead of two. It does not solve everything. The airport is about 50 km and about 90 minutes by road, and the Yellow Line does not change that. Car trips east and west, toward Sarjapur Road or the Outer Ring Road, still use the roads. And we do not publish train timings or fares here, because they change. Check BMRCL's own website or app for the current schedule and fares.

How the metro fits with the roads

For most households the metro is one half of the commute and the car is the other. The brochure puts Hosur Road, the Outer Ring Road and Sarjapur Road 15 to 20 minutes from Mizumi by road, and lists IT hubs such as Infosys, Wipro, RMZ and Embassy Tech at 15 to 30 minutes. Those are off peak figures. A useful test is to plan one trip each way: the metro for anything toward Silk Board and the city, the car for anything east toward Sarjapur Road. If both work for your family, the location works.

What to check before you buy for the metro

• Time the walk to Hosa Road station yourself, on a weekday morning.
• Check which gate of the township your tower is nearest, because it changes the walk.
• Ask whether the developer plans any shuttle to the station. We have not seen one in the documents.
• If the metro is the reason you are buying, visit once in the evening too.
